There may be food
in the fridge
that you don’t know
about, that you don’t
remember seeing
the last time you opened
the door,
but you won’t know
until you open it again
This is what they mean
when they speak
of Schrodinger’s cat,
except the cat is in a box,
not a fridge,
which seems right
as cats like boxes
and I’ve never seen a cat
in a fridge
Now the dog would definitely
live in the fridge –
what access!
the chicken would be gone
although I have money
on the broccoli still
being there when you check
