“What do you think we should do with it?” asked one of the guards?
“I don’t know,” replied his partner, “throw it away?”
“Doesn’t that seem a bit wrong to you?” the first responded.
“Eh, I don’t know, they don’t pay us enough to worry about that,” his partner said, shrugging.
“But what if it’s important?”
“It can’t be that important, or they would have taken it,” his partner returned, getting frustrated. “Look, just pass it here.” The first guard passed the crown over.
“Now it’s no one’s problem,” said the second, tossing it into the brazier next to them.
