Carry On

They say,
pick yourself up
and carry on.

I look at my baggage,
my family drama,
friends I don’t talk
to anymore but keep
zipped up in a duffel,
body image issues
spilling out of a suitcase,
don’t look at the biggest,
that’s where the insecurity
lives and if anyone acknowledges
it, I’ll die of mortification.

Carry on?
May I suggest,
carry one less
bag today.
