winter blues
give way
like an unlocked door
to anxious red-orange
flames
around my neck
if I stay
here I will suffocate

I love this piece, especially for its honesty. That door may be unlocked, but it doesn’t mean it’s easy to open it. Then again, if we stay right where we are now, how can we get the help we need? You communicate this message evocatively, delicately, and thoroughly. That’s amazing, and I really enjoyed reading this micro-poem. It says so much about what people go through. ❤
