going downhill
is good,
because it’s a stream,

now I’ve reached
the delta,
so many slightly
different paths

through the sand
and dirt and gravel,
no one defined path,
choose a rivulet,

it will lead somewhere,
same as all the others,
but the path, the choosing,
make the difference
