in this kelly green dress,
I am floating over Irish fields and hills,
the white stripe above the hem
is a cloud nipping at the backs of my knees

i might float away into the fluffy white yonder
if it weren’t for the textured blue cutting
into my toes, lines across knuckles like hands
weighing down shoulders with guilt
